ENOUGH

One of my favorite movies is Enough, about a woman who decides she’s had enough of an abusive marriage and fights to reclaim her life. Now, before I turn this blog into a movie review—complete with popcorn—here’s my point: sometimes “ENOUGH” is the beginning of a change.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation that made you say, “ENOUGH”? Maybe you’ve been mistreated on a job, hurt in church, overwhelmed by debt, or disappointed in a relationship. You’ve talked to a friend, cried a little, prayed a lot—and still wondered, “Lord, did You get my message?”

Sometimes we want our prayers answered like an Amazon delivery: ordered today, arriving tomorrow, with tracking updates! But God does not operate on our delivery schedule. Waiting can be hard, especially when we think we already know exactly how He should handle the situation. I’ve certainly offered Him a few suggestions!

The widow and the unjust judge in Luke 18 remind us to keep praying and not lose heart. Jesus used her persistence to teach us to continue bringing our needs to God. We don’t have to pretend we’re never tired or discouraged. We can tell Him the truth: “Father, I’m weary. Help me trust You while I wait.

Sometimes, what feels like a delay may be protection. That opportunity we wanted might have carried a burden we couldn’t see. That relationship we hoped would work might have pulled us away from our purpose. We see what looks good right now; God sees what we cannot. How many times have we looked back and said, “Thank You, Lord, for not giving me what I begged You for”?

Being patient doesn’t mean putting our lives on hold. We can keep praying, seek wise counsel, and do what is within our power today. Unlike the woman in the movie who reached out to her estranged father, we can reach out to our heavenly Father with confidence in His love. We may have had ENOUGH of the situation, but we don’t have to give up on prayer.

Have you had ENOUGH of allowing the enemy to win in your life? If you’ve had enough, it’s time to do the spiritual work that leads to change. Keep praying, spend time in God’s Word, and put your faith into action. That may mean setting a boundary, changing a habit, forgiving someone, or taking a step God has been prompting you to take. We can’t keep asking for change while holding tightly to the same old patterns. With God’s help, we can move toward VICTORY!

Our help comes from the Lord, and asking for help is a sign of strength. Take the next step—even if your knees are knocking. Your situation may be difficult, but it does not have the final word. You are loved, you have purpose, and your story isn’t over.

ENOUGH can be where a new chapter begins!
