I cannot say enough about the importance of having a consistent hygiene routine. Like most of you, I have a hectic life, and I shower every day, sometimes twice a day. I use Dove and Warm Vanilla Sugar shower gel. I enjoy showering and love to smell good. I thought I was doing the right thing; I had been showering for a long time. While my routine is more like a car wash cycle, I will admit that first, I washed with Dove, rinsed, then washed with body wash, then rinsed again. I realized I was treating my body like a car, with two washes and two rinses holding the wax. What you may not know about me is that I enjoy being clean. Today, I talked with my very good friend Tonie, AKA: Lady Louise of Louis Antoinette Salon & Spa, who taught me that using both soap and body wash was unnecessary. I knew it wasn't necessary, but I didn't think it was not a smart thing to do. She explained that too much soap can strip your skin of natural oils. I was surprised to learn that little tidbit. I had to make a change so my skin would stay moist.
I modified my car wash routine, LOL! No more showering my body like I'm a car going through the car wash. I've had this habit for a very long time, and now I'll take turns using Dove one day and body wash the next. You are always young enough to learn something new. "THANKS" Lady Louise! The important thing is that I am no longer drying out my skin. I recently read that bathing with only water balances out the skin's essential oils. I will have to stop washing my body like a car. So, remember ladies, only a little soap and lots of moisturizer.
